North Carolina Museum of History - $1 Off with your First Night Button Knights of the Black Flag December 31, 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM North Carolina Museum of History, 5 E. Edenton Street
Seafaring scoundrels command attention in a major exhibit at the NC Museum of History. Knights of the Black Flag explores the legacy of pirates, from ancient times to the present, through intriguing artifacts, legends and history that bring their ruthless adventures to life. The interactive exhibit is an exciting experience for all ages.
The exhibit will remain open until 10:00 PM on December 31. Receive a $1 discount all day on December 31 with a First Night Raleigh 2010 button. This discount cannot be combined with other offers. Admission is free for ages 18 and under. The regular admission fee is $5 for ages 19 and up; $4 for senior citizens, active military personnel and adult groups of 10 or more. Follow along on a photographic expedition through Alaska’s 19.2-million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, courtesy of the Museum’s newest special exhibit, “Journey through the Arctic Refuge,” on display October 17 through January 10. The exhibition tells the story from the perspective of a National Geographic-sponsored traverse in 2006 celebrating the 50th anniversary of a biological survey led by naturalists Olaus and Mardy Murie, which resulted in the protection of this stunning wilderness. |
